The 2018 FIFA World Cup final in Russia final took place at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium. It was the 21st time a champion was crowned and just the 12th time the FIFA World Cup trophy was award(ed).

From 1930-1970, the Jules Rimet trophy, which depicted the Greek goddess of victory Nike, was award(ed) to the winner. Only South American and European nations have been crowned champs, let alone participated in the final.
